The Sharhabil bin Hassneh EcoPark is considered a leading model for preserving ecologically important habitats In Jordan. The project was developed with many ambitious goals to achieve including protection of the Jordan River Valley and its natural habitat. Increasing knowledge and interest in the environment locally, regionally and nationally. Creating a healthier living options especially to the local community and improving spiritual, mental & physical wellbeing of visitors of the SHE EcoPark.
SHE EcoPark is a 216 donums ecosystem of diverse Mediterranean bushland. The park was expanded to include the Ziglab dam, which is the first dam in Jordan and was established in the 1960s. It is located in the northern part of the Jordan Valley and surrounded by farmland and Bedouin goat herders. The design of the SHE EcoPark is based on permaculture principles where residents participate in the growing of food, recycling, and a community spirit of sharing.
